Must be a high school senior or college student. Applicants must be a resident of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon or Washington but may study elsewhere. Preference is given to students who are self-identified LGBTQ, members of LGBTQ families, or straight allies who have been strongly supportive of the LGBTQ community. The Bernie Minsk Scholarship is awarded to graduating public high school seniors who currently work with Rainier Scholars. Priority will be given to seniors who attend Garfield High School in Seattle, WA. All students should demonstrate financial need and a strong interest and commitment to mentoring students in the future.

$2500 - Bob and Maggie Bergman Scholarship

This scholarship is granted to Quilcene High School graduating seniors in Quilcene, WA to provide an incentive to continue education in college or trade school.

$2000 - Bob and Maggie Bergman Teacher Recognition Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to honor and to give financial support to a current teacher in Quilcene or Brinnon School District pursuing continuing education at an accredited educational institution. The Bergman’s have a strong commitment to the quality of education in the Quilcene area, also offering scholarships to students who continue their education at college or university. By offering this scholarship to teachers, they hope to encourage them to increase their skills and enrich their experience which will, in turn, benefit the students and improve the quality of education in the region.

The Linkous Foundation Scholarship was created in memory of Gary L. Linkous (Columbia High School, Class of 1955). This scholarship will provide financial support for college tuition/education expenses to a deserving senior currently enrolled at Richland or Hanford high schools in Richland, Washington.

$5000 - Walter H. Meyer - Garry L. White Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is directed specifically to returning adult students who are either attending or prepared to attend a 2- or 4-year public or private university, at the graduate or undergraduate level. If attending at the undergraduate level, the applicant must be over the age of 24. If attending at the graduate level, the applicant must be over the age of 30.
